9:6; among them, Mighty God and Wonderful—the name the
Angel of the Lord revealed to Manoah. This God-Man is the
same Angel of the Lord. Exodus 23:21 informs us that Yah-
weh’s (Jehovah’s) name would be in Him. The Angel’s now
common name is Yeshua (Yahweh saves); again, this is trans-
lated in English as Jesus!
The glory of the Lord comes together then as the Man with
Abraham and Jacob (the pre-incarnate Messiah), the Angel of
the Lord, and the Cloud (a pillar of fire by night), which re-
mained with the Israelites throughout their 40 years of desert
wandering. This same pillar of cloud and fire met Moses on
Mount Sinai.
“When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud cov-
ered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For
six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh
day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud. To the
Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on
top of the mountain”
(Exod. 24:15-17).
This passage is a type of what will happen when the sev-
enth day or the Millennial-Sabbath Day comes, for it was on
the seventh day that Moses went up the mountain. Chapter 19
of Exodus provides us with several details. Israel was God’s
treasured possession (Deut. 7:6), and will be again (Matt.
13:44). Israel is to be a kingdom of priests (Exod. 19:6), after
God descends to them for a final time at the end of the tribula-
tion. This will be after two days (2,000 years) and at the begin-
ning of the third day (Millennial Day) (Hosea 6:2), as typified
in the book of Exodus:
“…and be ready by the third day, be-
cause on that day the Lord will come down…”
(Exod. 19:11).
