CHAPTER 2
WHAT WILL END?
The World Never Ends
eople have often spoken about the end of the world or
“doomsday.” Yet, the scriptures tell us that the world nev-
er ends but endures forever,
“…like the earth that he estab-
lished forever”
(Psalm 78:69). Also,
“Generations come and
generations go, but the earth remains forever”
(Ecc. 1:4). There
will be a new earth (Rev 21:1), but the earth is changed from
matter to energy—disappearing from visible sight; but in es-
sence, it will be only a reconstitution.
END OF THE WORLD vs. END OF THE AGE
If the world never ends, then what is meant by several vers-
es in the King James Version of the Bible that speak of the end
of the world? Note especially:
“And as he sat upon the mount
of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, ‘Tell
us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of
thy coming, and of the end of the world’”
(Matt. 24:3, KJV)?
And Jesus’ words,
“So shall it be at the end of the world: the
angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the
just”
(Matt. 13:49, KJV).
