The End

Testament. The scriptures show that at the blowing of trum-

pets, God’s people were to set out and to meet at the Tent of

Meeting. The Tent of Meeting is the tabernacle (Num. 9:15).

This was a copy and shadow of what is in heaven (Heb. 8:5).

In the past, the Lord has appeared to the entire assembly in

front of the Tent of Meeting (Lev. 9:5).

“Make two trumpets of

hammered silver, and use them for calling the community to-

gether and for having the camps set out. When both are

sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at

the entrance to the Tent of Meeting”

(Num. 10:2-3).

Silver is the metal that symbolizes redemption. The above

trumpets were made of the atonement money of the people.

The first trumpet was used for the calling of the assembly and

the last trumpet was used for the journeying of the camps. Lat-

er in Numbers, the Israelites were told that when an enemy

was oppressing them, they were to sound the trumpets, and

that the Lord would remember them and rescue them from

their enemies (Num. 10:9). They were told specifically to do

this at the feasts and New moon festivals (Num. 10:10).

According to the above passages in Numbers, the assembly

is gathered and moved by the blowing of the trumpets. Thus,

those that have received the Messiah will be gathered and

moved to the gate of the assembly (the heavenly tabernacle) by

the blowing of trumpets. Since the “clouds” or the New Jerusa-

lem comes to the earth, a group of believers are to meet the

Lord outside His heavenly tabernacle, which comes to the

earth with the blowing of the last trumpet. They are in effect

hidden from God’s wrath, fulfilling the following:

“For in the

day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide
